New Braunfels, Texas � March 2, 2012: It was 25 years ago that LumiQuest came on the scene with its original product�the LumiQuest Pocket Bouncer. And it still remains one of the most popular LumiQuest products in the world.
LumiQuest was co-founded in 1987 by Quest Couch and Heidi Kenny as a result of their Audio Visual Production company, which required Quest to be on-location shooting for clients. �This type of photography was fast-paced and required being prepared for a variety of different lighting situations,� Quest explains. �At the time, I often carried several Vivitar 283s and their metal bracket with a bounce card, which was bulky and cumbersome to pack�.
To solve this problem Quest created a bounce card that could fold up and fit in your camera bag or pocket and be effective at softening and spreading the light. The result was a white cardboard version of what is still the basic shape of the original LumiQuest Pocket Bouncer. �With our original product we made a conscious decision to design products that solved real problems based on lighting principals, not hype,� notes Heidi Kenny. �By listening to the needs of the photographer and being innovative, Quest has designed over 30 different photographic accessories. Sure, we have made slight tweaking and material improvements along the way, but the basic designs of our products have remained unchanged.�
